The Tamarillo Edit

A three-stage process for designing and making custom products that earn their place — from first brief to final delivery

Designing custom products can feel deceptively straightforward. A logo, a deadline, a supplier — and it should all fall into place. In practice, most challenges don't begin in production. They begin earlier, with unclear decisions, rushed approvals, and too many moving parts arriving at once.

The Tamarillo Edit is about slowing down at the right moment — so everything moves more smoothly later. Every product we make follows the same three stages, in the same order, with nothing skipped and nothing rushed.

Slow Luxury

The best products we've made were never rushed. Slow Luxury is our belief that when a project is given proper time — for thinking, for designing, for refining — better decisions follow at every stage. In the materials chosen, in the details refined, and in how products travel around the world to reach your guests.

The brands that get this right plan ahead. A beach programme briefed in January, sampled in March, and approved in April arrives in guests' hands in June looking exactly as intended. That's not luck — it's time, used well.

Design & Define

Bringing your brand to life

We start by getting to know your brand properly — your values, your guests, your vision for what these products should feel like. From there, we design every detail from scratch, specify materials and finishes, and present fully costed options at different quantities so you can make confident decisions before anything is made.

Nothing is selected from a catalogue. Every product is designed around your brand, not the other way around.

What you receive:

  • Tailored concept development
  • Visual mockups with your branding applied
  • Curated materials and finishes
  • Full technical specification
  • Unit costs, MOQs, and recommended branding methods

A design fee applies per product — quoted clearly in advance and credited back in full when you move forward with a bulk order. It is our way of ensuring every project begins with the right level of care, and yours of knowing exactly what to expect.

Sample & Refine

Getting every detail right

Before anything goes into production, you see and feel it. We produce samples that are as close to the final product as possible, and we refine until every detail is right — colour, texture, weight, finish. Nothing moves forward without your approval.

This stage exists because the real world reveals things a screen cannot. A colour that looks perfect in a mockup may behave differently on a textured fabric. A proportion that reads well digitally may feel different in your hands. Sampling is where those discoveries happen — at the right moment, before production begins.

What you receive:

  • A pre-production sample of every product
  • Colours, dimensions, and finishes reviewed in the real world
  • Adjustments confirmed before production begins
  • Revised samples where significant changes are needed
  • Test prints, embroideries, or lab dips for colour-critical approvals

Sample costs are quoted clearly upfront with no surprises, and credited back against confirmed bulk orders. For new clients, we offer a first-sample credit to make it easier to experience our process before committing to a larger production phase.

Produce & Deliver

Carefully made, responsibly produced

Once you have approved the sample, we manage production through our trusted network of manufacturers and keep you updated every week without exception. You will always know where your order is.

We handle quality checks, logistics coordination, and delivery — so that what arrives matches exactly what you signed off. The aim is a calm, well-managed delivery with no unnecessary surprises.

What you receive:

  • Production management with trusted manufacturing partners
  • Quality control checks throughout production
  • Clear coordination of logistics and delivery
  • Weekly updates on timelines, progress, and next steps

We favour sea freight over air wherever the timeline allows — better for the planet, and often better for the product.
